Relationship War

 Hello friends, this is Abby here and today we are going to take my favorite couples from a bunch of different movies and pin them against one another to determine which one is superior. I have selected 8 different couples and they have randomly been paired up. I will analyse each relationship and pick which one I think is better out of each pair. If a couple appears in multiple movies (ex. Kissing Booth and Kissing Booth 2) I will be looking at all the movies they appear in. I would also like to point out that when I say relationship for this post I mean specifically romantic relationships not any other type. Ok let's get started!

Elle & Noah (Kissing Booth) vs Julie & Luke (Julie & the Phantoms)

As for Elle and Noah, we all love them, they are a classic. However I did notice a few problems with their relationship. The lack of trust they have in each other, which is especially present in the second movie, creates a very toxic relationship. Furthermore, their relationship created many problems among their family and friends. Though they are able to work through these problems (for the most part) and they do have many good moments that make up for the bad.

I think we are all aware at this point that I am obsessed with JATP. In regards to Julie and Luke's relationship, there is really not that much there. This is not because it is overlooked in the show, it is that this is technically a kids show, so there can't be too much romance in a show like that. Their behavior is very wholesome which is very refreshing comparing it to other relationships in shows today. Furthermore, the moments they share are generally cute and it is easy to watch them together.

Peter & LJ (To All the Boys) vs Dash & Lily (Dash & Lily)

Peter and LJ are a classic, the To All the Boys movies are very popular and therefore their relationship is a well known one. The characters work very well together and for the most part they are very trusting and open with one another. My favorite example of this is in the third installment when LJ confesses that she accidentally lied to him and he forgives her immediately. This lie does create some tension later on, but they are always able to work out their issues.

Dash & Lily is harder to classify. They do not actually meet until the end of the show and spend a majority of it sending letters back and forth. The one positive thing about only knowing each other through letters is that they actually are getting to know each other, they are not being blinded by looks. Getting to know someone through letters is very unconventional, but it works for them.

April & Nick (Feel the Beat) vs Quinn & Jake (Work It)

April & Nick are very cute, I liked them. They reminded me of a Hallmark movie type relationship in the sense that they knew each other prior to the events of the movie. They grew up in the same town and dated in high school and rediscovered their love in the movie. Their only problem is that they spend most of the movie denying their feelings and it gets frustrating at some points.

The romance in Work It is certainly more prominent than in Feel the Beat. As for the relationship itself, it is not terrible. One thing that sticks out to me is age gap between the character. Based on some simple logic and counted I am 95% sure that Quinn is a senior in high school and Jake is at least a senior in college or out of college. However the characters chemistry is present (mostly because they dance together, so like duh). Both characters are stubborn, so it does create some problems, but nothing they can't handle.

Those are the 3 battles for today now for the winners:

I had a hard time with round 1, they are both very classic relationships, but I going to pick Julie and Luke just because the wholesomeness of their relationship is refreshing. For round 2 I am going to pick Peter and LJ because they have a stronger trust in one another. For round 3 I am going to pick Quinn and Jake because they had more of a presence in the film so it was easier to see their chemistry.
