Romantic Comedy Mock Election

Hello friends, this is Abby here. With 2020 presidential election happening right now, I thought it would be fun to have a mock election and put rom-com characters into office. We are not only voting for just a president, we are going to vote for a vice president, secretary and treasurer as well. So this is more like a middle school election than a real government election, but it should still be fun. I came up with 2 candidates for each position and listed some basic facts for each to help you decide. After you read about all the candidates there will be a link for you to vote for which rom com characters you want in office. You will only have until November 13th at midnight to vote. Now let's get into it!

TREASURER:

Violet Markey (All the Bright Places) vs Brooks Rattigan (The Perfect Date)

Violet:

- knows how to deal with trauma

- takes time to open up

- smart, good at school when she applies herself

- has strong relationships and works hard to keep them

Brooks:

- he's the "face of the company" type

- good with computers and app designing

- sticks up for those he cares about

- good student (Smart enough for Yale)

SECRETARY:

Sierra Burgess (Sierra Burgess is a Loser) vs Alex Truelove (Alex Strangelove)

Sierra:

- strong writer and student, loves to read

- knows how to make a good deal

- works well with others

- insecure about her looks

Alex

- 4.0 GPA, considered a nerd

- has experience as class president

- not worried about what others think of his love interest, Elliot

- cares about other people's feelingss

VICE PRESIDENT:

Jasmine Hale (Work It) vs Harper Kreyman (Tall Girl)

Jasmine:

- team player

- works hard to achieve her goals

- easily distracted

- very competitive when challenged

Harper:

- Pageant queen

- Loved by her town, family and friends

- Natural leader

- Strong mentor for her sister

PRESIDENT:

John Ambrose (To All the Boys 2) vs Chole Winthrop (Kissing Booth 2)

John:

- Patient and kind with others; easy to get along with

- good boy type

- volunteers frequently

 - generally quiet but makes good company

Chloe:

- British; includes the accent (those with British accents are automatically superior)

- leader of her friend group; very social

- intimidating presence (because of her "perfection")

- gives really good advice

All right, those are our candidates for the 2020 rom-com election! Now for my picks:

Treasurer: Violet Markey

Flynn, Julie's bestie, books the band a gig at the school dance, but the boys (Luke, Alex & Reggie) are more focused on getting revenge on their old band mate.
